Senior Commercial Real Estate Review Appraiser
United Community is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Real Estate Review Appraiser to provide independent appraisal reviews and valuation analysis for commercial real estate collateral supporting bank lending decisions. This role is crucial for risk management, ensuring compliance and technical soundness in accordance with federal regulations and bank policy.

Responsibilities
Analyze and evaluate third‑party commercial real estate appraisals and valuations for adequacy, reasonableness, and compliance with FIRREA, USPAP, Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines, and bank policy
Reconcile meaningful differences in valuation conclusions and identify material risks or deficiencies
Apply advanced appraisal knowledge and sound judgment in evaluating complex property types and market conditions
Prepare clear, well‑supported written appraisal reviews on which the bank may rely for lending decisions
Perform internal commercial property evaluations as required
Conduct ongoing research on commercial real estate markets, economic conditions, and trends within assigned geographic areas
Maintain current knowledge of market dynamics, property types, regulatory requirements, and valuation methodologies impacting collateral values
Communicate with appraisal vendors to resolve deficiencies and recommend appropriate corrective actions
Serve as a trusted resource to lenders by providing guidance on appraisal policy, appraisal products, valuation issues, and market trends
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
Active State‑Certified General Real Estate Appraiser license required
Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial real estate appraisal and/or appraisal review
Strong understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing commercial real estate valuations, including FIRREA, USPAP, and Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines
Extensive knowledge of commercial real estate appraisal theory, valuation principles, and best practices
Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate complex third‑party appraisal reports for accuracy, adequacy, reasonableness, and compliance
Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem‑solving skills with sound professional judgment
Ability to clearly explain interpretive and subjective valuation decisions to lenders, management, and other stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, well‑supported appraisal reviews
