Staff Test & Evaluation Engineer

Responsibilities

Lead Team Efforts: Mentor and guide a team of test engineers through the entire test lifecycle
Own End-to-End Testing: Manage integration tests in lab-based, hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) environments as well as conduct field validation testing at external ranges and austere sites
Drive Innovation: Shape test strategies and ensure that our systems consistently meet stringent DoD standards, ultimately delivering decisive performance advantages to the warfighter
Plan, execute, and report on comprehensive test campaigns for Eagle Eye and additional Connected Warfare products
Oversee tests ranging from system integration and developmental events to operational assessments and customer acceptance
Define and manage requirements-based, scenario-driven, and operationally relevant test methods
Incorporate customer-required standards and metrics to validate performance and ensure traceability from requirements through verification and validation
Collaborate with Program Management, Engineering, SEIT, external test ranges, and government partners
Oversee Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), manage test incidents, and track deficiencies effectively
Supervise data analysis related to system performance in both lab and field settings
Establish measurable test coverage metrics and deliver formal test reports that drive actionable insight and continuous improvement
Represent your team at customer reviews, readiness boards, and milestone decision points
Ensure all test campaigns are executed safely and in strict compliance with industry and DoD protocols

Required

Bachelor's degree in Systems, Electrical, or Computer Engineering (or a related technical discipline). Advanced degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
12+ years of system-level test and evaluation of integrated hardware/software systems
At least 5+ years in a technical leadership or test lead capacity, owning significant portions of test programs
Hands-on experience with developmental and operational test events in both laboratory and field environments
Strong background in requirements development, test planning, verification/validation, and traceability management
Familiarity with RF communications, tactical datalinks, and networked C2 systems in DoD operational environments
Proficiency in test metrics definition and reporting (e.g., test coverage %, requirements verification %, defect closure rates)
Excellent leadership, written, and verbal communication abilities
Proven aptitude for briefing senior stakeholders in both internal and external settings
Ability to travel up to 50% for test execution at ranges and field sites
Active or immediately eligible for a U.S. Secret security clearance

Preferred

Master's degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical field
Prior experience as a Test Lead on a DoD test program or equivalent
Knowledge of EMI/EMC, MIL-STD-810 environmental testing, and MIL-STD-1275/1553/1760 standards
Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks, data analysis tools, CI/CD pipelines, and hardware-in-the-loop environments
Experience in remote, austere, or tactical operational settings
Eligibility for Top Secret/SCI clearance is a plus
