NAMACC Systems Technician (Grade 14)

The City of Huntsville’s Police department is seeking qualified applicants for the NAMACC Systems Technician position. This role involves advanced technical work providing IT support for the North Alabama Multi-Agency Crime Center, ensuring the functionality of related software, hardware, networks, and facilities.

Responsibilities

Supporting the NAMACC System Manager in ensuring the sustained functionality of all NAMACC related software, hardware, networks, servers, and related facilities
Setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the NAMACC Guardian Network which includes fixed and mobile CCTV cameras, license plate readers, video management systems, etc
Working closely with the assigned NAMACC Police Application Technician(s), vendors, the HPD IT division, as well as the City of Huntsville ITS department coordinating direct assistance with network configurations, troubleshooting, and new hardware and software (technology) reviews

Required

High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency and at least five (5) years of experience in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology
or an associate's degree in Computer Science, Business or Public Administration, or a related field from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and three (3) years of experience in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology
Must successfully complete a pre-employment supplemental application
Must successfully pass a polygraph examination
Must successfully pass a fingerprinting background check
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record
Must obtain COMP TIA Security + Certification within 11 months of hire or promotion

Preferred

bachelor's degree in computer science, Business or Public Administration, or a related field from a college or university accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
