Responsibilities
This role will closely partner and be co-located with R&D at the VIAVI Calabasas, CA office and potentially at other R&D sites
Provide DFT directions to R&D at the concept stage of new product development
Devise the overall test and configuration strategy for new products
Design and develop the various automated production systems required to implement the strategy
Detailed project planning to ensure that all production systems are developed, debugged, and validated in time for production pilot runs
Detailed design of specific tests required to ensure products are free from hardware defects
Design and implement validation plans to ensure repeatable and reliable functionality of production systems
Install and validate production systems at their final production facility (usually at a contract manufacturer)
Process optimization between Pilot and Volume Production
Qualification
Required
4-year electrical engineering degree, MSEE or equivalent preferred
5 years of experience developing automated functional tests
Fluency in written and spoken German and English required
C#
Python and other programming languages essential
NI TestStand is essential
Knowledge of communications technology and test technology - such as: PCIe, Fiber Channel, SAS/SATA, and Ethernet
Project planning / self-directed management skills
Must be a self-starter, strong team player and demonstrate leadership skills
Ability to travel up to 15% of the time to Asian contract manufacturing sites
Preferred
SQL database programming experience
Knowledge of statistical process control
NI LabVIEW and/or LabWindows CVI programming experience
