Responsibilities
Handle wage and hour matters, including overtime, minimum wage, meal and rest breaks, misclassification, and related claims
Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FLSA and applicable state laws)
Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and legal memoranda
Represent clients in administrative proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and court hearings
Conduct legal research and factual investigations
Communicate effectively with clients, including non-English-speaking clients when applicable
Collaborate with attorneys and staff on case strategy and development
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in [State] (or ability to become licensed)
2+ years of experience in employment law, with a strong emphasis on wage and hour matters
Solid understanding of FLSA and relevant state and local wage and hour laws
Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
Excellent client communication and case management abilities
Preferred
Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin (spoken proficiency required; written proficiency a plus)
Experience working with diverse or multilingual client populations
Litigation experience in wage and hour class or representative actions
Prior experience at an employment law firm or labor & employment practice
