Responsibilities

Develop plans and procedures, and direct technical equipment life-cycle management and operations
Serve customers within the NNSA and the interagency (DOJ, DOD, DHS, FRMAC). The candidate will serve as a deputy to the government sponsor's lead Radiological Assistance Program Functional Area Manager
Be responsible for equipment management across NNSA emergency response assets and for collaborating routinely with senior level NNSA officials on matters related to their programs and mission equipping needs
Independently develop and implement programmatic goals related to the efficient testing, selection, procurement and fielding of advanced detection systems in accordance with accepted practices and procedures
Serve as the primary point of contact for NA-84 related to nation-wide, mission critical equipment matters (selection, operation, maintenance, life-cycle) across multiple mission spaces including Search, Preventative Radiation Nuclear Detection, Consequence Management, and Communications
Oversee $300 million worth of NEST-specific equipment resources across more than 15 NNSA and DOE sites to synergize efforts to produce the highest equipment readiness and efficient processes for NA-84
Manage readiness of RAP equipment for Sandia National Laboratories and provide oversight of three outlying sites
Conduct training on RAP equipment for RAP team personnel and serve as lead planner for real world and exercise events

Qualification

STEM Bachelor's degreeRadiological Assistance Program experienceOperational emergency response managementDOE Q security clearanceBasic computer skillsRadiological worker experienceEffective communicationAttention to detail

Required

Bachelor's degree in STEM
At least (1) year of operational experience as a qualified Radiological Assistance Program responder
At least 5 years managing operational emergency response asset equipment
Ability to qualify for use of respiratory protection
Basic computer skills (MS Office)
Have a valid driver's license, be capable of operating a government vehicle, and have access to a private vehicle for travel to and from work locations
Active DOE Q level security clearance or equivalent

Preferred

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, and to team effectively with RCTs, engineers, scientists, and technicians
Demonstrated as having a high attention to detail
Experience as a radiological worker in the DOE complex
Qualified RAP responder
