NEOGOV is seeking an undergraduate intern for the City of Naperville’s Water Utility. This internship provides an opportunity for students majoring in Civil or Environmental Engineering to gain hands-on experience in both office and field work while networking with professionals in the municipal engineering field.

Responsibilities

Work primarily in the field observing the construction of large-scale projects
Aid in the drafting of drawings (using AutoCAD) and their upgrades
Collect data using GPS equipment for the upgrade and maintenance of city GIS systems
Supervise construction performed by contractors
Other duties as assigned

Required

Candidate must be currently enrolled in a college-accredited curriculum in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
A basic understanding of engineering concepts and materials, including concrete and asphalt (training will be provided)
Strong oral and written communication skills; and experience with Word and Excel
Be at least 18 years of age
Have a valid State of Illinois Class D Driver's License. Applicants should possess a driving history with no moving violations for at least the last twelve (12) months

Preferred

Experience with AutoCAD and GIS is a plus
