Junior Field Service Technician

Innovative Tube Equipment Corp (ITEC) is a leader in the tube fabrication industry, providing tube bending solutions, service, and support. They are looking for a motivated Junior Field Service Technician to shadow experienced technicians and learn how to install, maintain, and service tube bending and fabrication equipment at customer facilities across North America.

Responsibilities

Shadow and assist senior technicians with the installation and commissioning of tube bending and fabrication machinery
Learn to train end users on the proper operation of machinery, software, and tooling
Assist with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical problems under supervision
Help maintain and service tube bending and fabrication machinery
Learn to provide customer guidance on machine operation, maintenance, and safety
Support Inside Service Technicians by assisting with remote service tasks and troubleshooting
Enter service reports that capture all time and work completed on site; file all necessary machinery documentation
Assist with spare parts sales
Perform regular customer follow-up and customer satisfaction communications
Learn to read and understand electrical and mechanical drawings
Learn to read and understand machinery and component manuals
Develop understanding of I/O modules, servo amplifiers, and electrical components in control cabinets
Practice and adhere to all safety and training requirements

Required

Mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in learning how machines work
Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, primarily within the United States and Canada
Valid driver's license, ability to be insured on company's insurance policy, and ability to rent a car
Have or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport
Able to lift up to 75 lbs
Able to work overtime and weekends, as needed
Access to a quiet home office when not traveling
Access to high-speed internet from home office (100 Mbps minimum)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Basic computer proficiency, including: Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and email applications
Positive, professional attitude with a customer service mindset
High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

Associate's degree or technical school certification in engineering, mechatronics, or related field
1-2 years of hands-on experience with machinery, manufacturing, or technical repair (internships and school projects count)
Some exposure to electrical systems, hydraulics, or pneumatics
Experience in a customer-facing role
