Responsibilities

Support the development, testing, and distribution of QUIC-Fire and its graphical user interface
Feature development
Debugging
Maintain and support user community
Collaborate closely with internal and external scientist, researchers, and technicians
Run fire and disturbance simulations for ongoing projects

Required

Background in CS, mathematics, physics, or other STEM fields
Programming experience
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience with technical writing or documentation
Contribute to a healthy and inclusive work environment
Must have earned an Associate's or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (or international equivalent) within the last 3 years in an appropriate field
Must have graduated with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

Preferred

Ability to adapt to new requirements for projects and be flexible to learn new areas of research as needed
Graphical user interface development experience
GIS experience
Basic understanding of wildland fire dynamics
Computational modeling experience
HPC experience
Ability to obtain DOE Q clearance (usually requires US citizenship)
