Mechanisms Engineer
EVONA is seeking a Mechanisms Engineer to join an innovative team focused on the design, development, assembly, integration, and testing of mechanical systems and spaceflight mechanisms for aerospace applications. The role involves leading mechanical design iterations, executing testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize performance and reliability.
Responsibilities
Lead and support mechanical design iterations based on production and test feedback
Execute mechanical testing: vibration, shock, thermal vacuum (TVAC), environmental, and assembly
Develop test procedures, test requirements, tooling, and assembly instructions
Conduct trade studies, design for manufacturability (DFM), and process optimization
Collaborate cross-functionally with design engineers, manufacturing, and integration teams
Investigate mechanical failures, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Provide hands-on support for mechanism integration, AI&T workflows, and production assembly
Generate and present technical reports, test documentation, and data analysis
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
2+ years of experience in mechanical systems, mechanism development, or aerospace integration & test
Strong knowledge of mechanical testing, precision mechanisms, and hardware validation
Experience with CAD software, engineering analysis tools, and test instrumentation
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred
Familiarity with space mechanisms, deployment systems, or high-performance assemblies is a plus
