Teaching Assistant Professor/Teaching Instructor - Engineering Technology Program- 28756

West Virginia University is inviting applications for two positions in the Engineering Technology Program at the Teaching Assistant Professor and Instructor level. The roles involve primarily teaching undergraduate courses in engineering technology and participating in departmental service activities.

Higher Education

Responsibilities

Teaching courses to undergraduate students related to electronic circuits, PLC programming, robotics, manufacturing tools and processes, CAD, safety, and/or materials
Coordinating courses and class projects
Supervising student capstone projects
Assisting in establishing industry contacts to support the ETEC program and students
Assisting with and leading continual curriculum assessment and development
Supporting retention and student success activities in and outside of the classroom, including supporting scheduled ETEC events and activities
Mentoring and assisting undergraduate engineering technology students
Representing the ETEC program and the College to prospective students and families, visitors, and other interested parties from within and outside of WVU, as well as at campus and outside events

Required

Applicants applying for a Teaching Assistant Professor position must have a minimum of a Ph.D. in engineering, engineering technology, or another field at the time of hire with at least one degree in engineering, engineering technology, or closely related field
Applicants applying for an Instructor position must have a M.S. degree in engineering, engineering technology, or closely related field
Applicants must also demonstrate the ability to provide engineering students with a nurturing, stimulating, and exciting learning environment

Preferred

Applicants with expertise in manufacturing, electronics, mechatronics, or metrology are strongly encouraged to apply
