Responsibilities

Draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications in mechanical and biomedical technologies

Prepare Office Action responses and conduct examiner interviews for patent applications

Directly advise clients on patentability and prosecution strategy

Manage patent portfolios and related deadlines with direct communication with clients

Communicate directly with clients, inventors, and foreign associates related to client patent portfolio management

Qualification

Required

3–4 years of substantive patent prosecution experience

Strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field

Admission to the USPTO (Patent Bar required)

For attorney candidates: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

Admission to at least one U.S. state bar

Experience drafting and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented practice
