Deputy Attorney General III-V - Office of Impact Litigation Fraud & Consumer Protection Division
The State of Delaware is seeking a highly motivated and experienced litigator to serve as a Deputy Attorney General in the Office of Impact Litigation, part of the Fraud & Consumer Protection Division. This role involves handling affirmative litigation and investigations to support the Attorney General’s policy objectives, focusing on areas such as federal accountability, constitutional rights, and environmental protection.

Responsibilities
Handle affirmative litigation and investigations in support of the Attorney General’s policy objectives, including multistate and in-state matters involving federal accountability, constitutional rights, environmental protection, firearms safety, healthcare, immigration, employee labor protections, and oversight of Delaware’s charitable entities
Lead or support investigations that could lead to future impact litigation efforts
Assist with the development and review of amicus briefs, rulemaking comments, and position letters on non-criminal matters
Work closely with other Deputy Attorneys General and a Paralegal to track incoming materials, conduct legal research, and prepare recommendations for the Attorney General’s consideration
Participate in drafting original briefs, comments, or letters to reflect and implement the Attorney General’s policy goals
Work related to the Attorney General’s charter revocation authority, requiring coordination with the federal Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and the Delaware Division of Corporations
Other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office of Impact Litigation
Qualification
Required
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to work independently
Proven track record of meeting deadlines
Comprehensive understanding of complex civil litigation
Minimum of five years of legal practice experience
Admission to the Delaware Bar, or a willingness to sit for the next Delaware Bar examination
Preferred
At least ten years of experience handling complex litigation in both federal and state courts
Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills
Familiarity with financial reporting and basic accounting principles
