Business Development Manager – Software & AI Services
Markeltree is a software and AI services company helping early-stage startups and growing businesses turn ideas into scalable digital products. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to own client acquisition and deal closure for their software and AI services, managing the full sales cycle and contributing to the improvement of their sales process.
Responsibilities
Identify, engage, and close early-stage startups, founders, and businesses looking to build software products
Own the full sales cycle from first contact to signed agreement
Actively source and convert leads via Bark, Thumbtack, Upwork, Fiverr, inbound website leads, and outbound calling
Qualify technical and business requirements and position appropriate software or AI solutions
Collaborate with marketing, engineering, and proposal teams to close deals efficiently
Track pipeline activity and revenue accurately
Help refine sales messaging, qualification criteria, and closing strategies
Qualification
Required
2–5 years of experience in software or IT services sales
Proven ability to close deals in the $5K–$25K range
Experience selling to founders, startups, and SMB decision-makers
Familiarity with custom software, AI solutions, and digital product development
Strong communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills
Comfortable working on-site in a fast-paced environment
U.S. work authorization required
