Senior LevelThe State of Delaware is seeking a Deputy Attorney General to serve as Assistant Unit Head for the New Castle County Felony Trial Unit. This role involves managing a team of Deputy Attorneys General, overseeing felony prosecutions, and mentoring staff while maintaining a personal caseload.

Responsibilities
Assist with the management of the New Castle County Felony Trial Unit which consists of 15 Deputy Attorneys General, 6 Legal Assistants and 6 Legal Administrative Specialists
Prosecute all felonies that occur in New Castle County except for homicides, sex offenses, and those related to domestic violence
Have a strong working relationship with police agencies in New Castle County, the Court, and the defense bar
Be available for mentoring and training other Deputy Attorneys General and administrative staff while overseeing cases and operations within the Unit and conducting other managerial tasks as needed
Observe Deputy Attorneys General in trial and during other Court proceedings to provide feedback and assist if issues arise
Manage their own caseload and bring on other Deputy Attorneys General to try cases that proceed to trial
Qualification
Required
Delaware Bar membership is required
Skills necessary to effectively manage staff
Ability to engage Deputy Attorneys General in trainings
High proficiency in criminal prosecution
Ability to evaluate cases and determine resolutions
Ability to anticipate legal issues with the ability to research accurately and effectively
