Responsibilities

Performs research with molecular and cell biological techniques including PCR, DNA and RNA extraction, immunostaining, Western-blotting, cell culture, and sequencing data analysis using R
Animal experiment (Animal handling (newborn mice and rats), feeding pups via an oro-gastric tube, observation of the pups, Collection of intestinal tissue)
Lab management: managing mouse colonies, ordering supplies and managing mouse and safety protocols
Routine, general lab work (Solutions preparation, animal formula preparation, autoclaving lab ware and sterilizing instruments, keeping bench clean, cleaning of objects used for experiments and disposal of waste
Data collection, timely sample processing and storage
Willing to learn and improve/develop techniques

Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent required
One to two years laboratory experience preferred
Ideally previous lab experience in molecular biology (DNA, RNA, PCR and Western) and R programming
Mouse work experience is strongly preferred
The candidate will have skilled hands, be detail oriented and well organized
Ability to communicate effectively, works independently and under supervision, and function as a research team member

Preferred

Bachelor's degree preferred
