Sourcing and Vendor Relationship Manager

Responsibilities

Providing domestic and global product sourcing expertise to the team and the entire organization utilizing a skill set that includes market data, sourcing strategy, vendor identification and evaluation, negotiation, sales execution, category development, and on-going vendor management including vendor onboarding, item set up, item maintenance and required compliance management (USDA, FDA, FSVP, NOP)
Be a point of contact for all vendors including Exclusive, Non-Exclusive (Domestic’), Seasonal, Existing and New
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize the value chain to achieve placement and remain competitive within the Category
Deliver Promotional Activity, Brand Development and new Points of Distribution with an investment and support commitment, approved in advance by the Vendor. Defines and manages category review process in collaboration with Purchasing. Executes complex supplier negotiations in collaboration with Purchasing that includes diverse vendors, multi-platform categories and complex distribution channels
Implement category review and sourcing strategies to meet organizational sales and profitability objectives
Works in collaboration with Purchasing analyzing customer and vendor performance identifying opportunities to increase distribution with an emphasis on Gourmet International Exclusive Brands. Provides Seasonal sell through reporting and recommendations
Analyzes vendor performance and provides recommendations for profitable growth and assortment rationalization
Partner with the Leadership Team, Purchasing, Director of Sales & Marketing, and other cross-functional positions (e.g. Replenishment Buyers, Logistics, Warehouse Team, etc.)
Manages vendor relationships, category reviews, and vendor negotiations related to cost, value chain development, trade support and markdown support effectively
Analyze market trends and adjust sourcing and category strategies accordingly
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and achievement of organizational goals

Required

Bachelor's degree in relevant areas required (Sourcing, Procurement, Product Development, Merchandising, Manufacturing, Sales Account Management)
6+ years of experience in product sourcing both domestically and globally
Experience in product sourcing and buying for a retailer, wholesaler, or manufacturer
Demonstrated progression to positions of increased responsibility
Proven track record sourcing food products both domestically and globally
Understanding of market dynamics and ability to develop assortment strategies based on industry trends
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally

Preferred

Experience with NetSuite is a plus
