Responsibilities

Advise on legal areas at risk of state Attorney General engagement and enforcement, including consumer protection, antitrust, and emerging regulatory issues
Serve as the primary legal liaison for state AG matters, partnering with state legislative, policy, engineering, and external affairs teams to develop and execute coordinated engagement strategies
Represent T-Mobile in meetings with State AGs and staff, clearly and credibly articulating the company’s legal and policy positions
Advocate T-Mobile’s priorities at national and regional state AG meetings and working groups
Collaborate with Privacy, Artificial Intelligence, and Financial Services teams to understand new products and services and proactively assess AG-related risk
Support M&A activity by advising on antitrust considerations and AG engagement strategy
Act as a subject matter expert on affordability issues, including preparing talking points, briefing materials, and engagement strategy for AG interactions
Align Legal, External Affairs, and State AG teams around shared priorities and coordinated external engagement
Partner with Sales and Network teams on initiatives involving state AG considerations
Work with leadership on initiatives related to T-Mobile’s community engagement in the Greater Kansas City area
Attend select relationship-building and fundraising events in support of external engagement efforts

Required

2+ years of relevant experience as an in-house attorney, at a top law firm, or in government service; additional experience welcomed given the scope and independence of the role
Active Kansas licensed attorney or satisfy the conditions to qualify for Kansas Restricted License to practice in-house
JD from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials
Active bar membership (in good standing) in at least one U.S. state
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex, high-impact legal and regulatory issues and provide practical, business-oriented advice
Strong interest in and aptitude for learning new technologies and evolving regulatory landscapes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior leaders and external stakeholders
Sound judgment, executive maturity, and the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively across a complex organization
A pragmatic business mindset, strong customer focus, and commitment to teamwork and T-Mobile values
At least 18 years of age
Legally authorized to work in the United States
