Responsibilities

Work alongside Business Development team and Estimators and create site plans and single line drawings (DC and AC)
Convey results and findings by means of discussions, graphic-based presentations, and project documentation
Adhere to discipline-specific CAD standards
Improve efficiency and optimize solar layout design to minimize cost and propose value
Review drawings for completeness and accuracy
Create and update database of design records for future reference
Produce/modify cable schedules
Ensure proper dimensions and layout of equipment, devices and raceways
Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety

Required

High School Diploma or the equivalent
2+ years of solar design experience
Pursue ongoing education in the field installation of commercial and utility scale solar
Can be a combination of trade and relevant work experience
Ability to give presentations to groups of up to 10 people
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, etc.)
Effective motivation and communication (verbal, written, and presentation) skills
Proficiency in AUTOCAD 2D and 3D, Microsoft Office, and SketchUp
Familiarity with Helios3D or Civil 3D
Proactive attitude, showing initiative and the ability to work independently as well as with a team
Strong reasoning ability and capacity to improve efficiency and communication
Familiarity with various equipment (modules, racking, inverters, etc.) for proper design and installation of solar projects
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and follow through on assigned tasks and projects with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a fast-moving environment while maintaining a positive attitude in stressful situations
Excellent organizational skills and professionalism
Ability to understand manufacturer's installation guidelines creating site plans and single line drawings (DC and AC)
Ability to demonstrate familiarity with various equipment (modules, racking, inverters etc.) used for proper design and installation of solar projects
