Responsibilities
Developing, coaching, and managing a high-performing regional team of Property underwriting staff
Managing regional performance, including new business production, policy count retention, rate/tiering execution, and portfolio management actions relative to plan
Managing regional wholesale broker relationships
Managing underwriter referrals
Maintaining a small production portfolio to stay attuned with regional market changes and desk-level challenges
Traveling as necessary to support the needs of the team and to cultivate key broker relationships within the specified regions
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the claims or Under Support area
Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate's degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area
2 or more years of management experience
Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, Market Facing, Broker, Carrier, or Risk Management area within the Commercial Insurance industry
Bachelor's Degree with 20 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area within the Commercial Insurance industry
Experience in E&S Property
2 or more years of people management experience
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Strong underwriting acumen and expertise in the E&S Property space
Wholesale broker relationships
Strong planning and execution experience
Strong team building and organizational skills
CPCU
Excellent communication skills
