Senior Associate, Fund Accounting
Core Spaces is a vertically integrated real estate investment manager focused on acquiring, developing, and managing student housing and build-to-rent sectors. The Senior Associate, Fund Accountant will be responsible for the preparation and review of fund investment financials, variance analysis, and compliance with REIT and GAAP accounting standards.

Responsibilities
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and compiling audit-level support for all transactions
Prepare monthly capital call allocation files
First level review and/or preparation of financial statements and reporting packages including variance analysis, various roll forwards, and lender/investor reporting to ensure accounts property reflect each fund’s financial position in accordance with Operating Agreements
Direct collaboration with property and development accounting team members to confirm equity balances throughout the investment structure and confirm timing of payment for construction draws and operating cash flow distributions
Assist with preparation and distribution of financial reporting packages (quarterly and annually) to lenders, investors, and internal team members
Monitor cash needs through cross-team collaboration and forecasting based on knowledge of upcoming transactions
Involvement in the land and asset acquisition process, working directly with our acquisitions, capital markets, and fund management teams
Review and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, and resolve accounting related issues
Respond to and manage audit and investor inquiries pertaining to the quarterly and annual reporting package
Act as the direct liaison with the fund administrator, aiding with quarterly reporting issuance and capital call / distribution notices as needed
Reconcile individual investor capital balances; respond to investor inquiries
Focus on continuous improvement of processes and procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, Word
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Preferred
2-4 years' experience in fund administration or public accounting
Experience within real estate or construction accounting
Background in accounting for various types of entities including private equity funds and REIT's
Experience with various accounting technology platforms
Experience with Yardi or similar platforms
