Laboratory Assistant, CF - Substance Abuse Treatment Facility (SATF)

The Laboratory Assistant, CF will perform standardized non-technical laboratory procedures, assist in operating laboratory equipment, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations while maintaining safety and order.

Responsibilities
Performs standardized non-technical laboratory procedures in collecting and processing laboratory specimens, materials, and supplies
Assists in operating specialized laboratory equipment; complies with all the applicable State and federal laws and regulations and departmental policies and procedures pertaining to the laboratory
Maintains order, supervises the conduct of the incarcerated, and protects and maintains the safety of persons and property
Qualification
Required
Valid California State license/certification as a phlebotomist issued by the California Department of Public Health or equivalent license/certification which meets the legal requirements to practice phlebotomy in California
Six months of experience in laboratory work similar to that described in Definition of Levels above
High school diploma or equivalent
Satisfactory completion of a formalized laboratory work experience and training program of at least three months
