Responsibilities
Perform complex chemical analyses on biological samples with precision and accuracy
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring all are calibrated and functioning correctly
Interpret and report test results in a timely manner, adhering to established protocols and quality control standards
Participate in the development and validation of new testing procedures and methodologies
Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with other laboratory personnel and healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient care and test accuracy
Assist in training and mentoring junior laboratory staff as needed
Maintain detailed and accurate records of laboratory activities and findings
Qualification
Required
Active and valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or CGMBS license is required
Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry, or a related field
Proven experience in Mass Spec, Chemistry OR Molecular testing within a clinical laboratory setting
Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail
Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently or as part of a team
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards
Preferred
Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR)
