Park Manager 1 (Tumalo State Park)
The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) is dedicated to preserving Oregon's landscapes and culture while providing accessible public spaces. The Park Manager 1 role involves overseeing maintenance, operations, and programs at Tumalo State Park, while managing staff and ensuring resource protection and administrative functions.

Administrative functions of one of our smaller, less-complex park management units
Accomplish this through short range planning
Directly supervising permanent, seasonal, and volunteer staff who carry out operational tasks within the unit's parks
Qualification
Required
Two years of lead work experience in park operations and maintenance
An Associate's degree in Park and Recreation Administration or Natural Resource Management or Environmental Studies and 6 months of lead work experience in park operations and maintenance
A higher level degree may substitute for the Associate's degree. There is no substitute for the 6 months experience
To be hired, a criminal record and driving record check must be completed that meets OPRD Criteria at the time of hire, and throughout employment while also maintaining a valid driver's license
Preferred
Experience in providing supervision and/or coordination to permanent, seasonal, volunteers, corrections crews, and/or temporary employees
Experience overseeing multidisciplinary projects involving natural resources, forestry, cultural resources, facilities maintenance, and interpretive programming
Experienced in interpreting and applying agency rules, policies, and procedures to both staff and the public
Proficient in budget development, contract management, and financial analysis
Ability and enthusiasm to maintain and improve Community Relations and foster cooperation from other agencies, non-profits and neighbors
Committed to fostering a culturally competent and inclusive work environment that values diversity
Preference may be given to current or prior experience with Oregon State Parks, with working knowledge of agency-specific policies and procedures
