Responsibilities

Learning the principles in providing medical information through scientific exchange in a fair-balanced manner
Supporting the unsolicited medical information request follow-up process
Collaborate with Regional Medical Affairs Directors (RMADs) and Congress Lead to support the planning and attendance of regional/local scientific conferences taking place to gain exposure to Xeris therapeutic areas of interest
As assigned, collaborate with RMADs in medical and scientific engagements with healthcare community
Provide support for internal medical team meetings, including meeting preparation and presentations during meetings as assigned
Understand the importance of internal and external cross- functional relationships
Maintains a solid understanding and up to date knowledge of the assigned therapeutic area(s) and compound(s)
Participate in assigned Regional Medical Affairs projects, initiatives, and activities as identified and requested, which may include journal clubs, medical material development, presenting to Medical team members, etc
Understanding administrative responsibilities, including training requirements
Shadow various members of the Medical Affairs team which may include members of Medical Communication, Regional Medical Affairs, Medical Operations, Pharmacovigilance, Clinical, and other cross-functional partners as identified
Actively participate in all Summer Intern programming and initiatives
At the conclusion of the internship, prepare a comprehensive review of the internship experience and present to the organization

Required

Applicants must be a graduate-level student pursuing either a PharmD, MD, DO, PhD or DNP
Applicants must have completed at least 1 year of their graduate program
Minimum GPA 3.0
Returning to academic program at a credentialed institution for at least one semester post-internship
Mastery of Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc)
Ability to handle confidential information
Competencies : Written and Verbal Communication skills, Teamwork & Collaboration, Professionalism, Organizational skills, Problem-solving skills, Adaptability, Self-starter
Working Conditions : Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. This role is based in Xeris' Chicago office and requires five days per week in the office
