Responsibilities
Performs transportation and logistical support activities for public health operations, including the movement and management of pharmaceuticals, vaccines, supplies, equipment, and materials between locations
Supports mobile, site-based, and field operations by ensuring required materials are delivered, staged, and returned as needed
Handles, transports, and monitors materials in accordance with established safety, handling, and storage protocols, including temperature-sensitive items when applicable
Completes basic documentation related to deliveries, inventory movement, and operational activities
Assists with operational readiness during surge periods, special events, and emergency response activities, including rapid redeployment or relocation of materials
Maintains vehicle readiness through routine inspections, cleanliness, and reporting of maintenance or safety issues
Coordinates with staff, supervisors, and program teams to support daily operational needs and address logistical issues
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Six (6) months of experience in logistics, operations support, transportation, or a related field
Valid Texas Driver License
Knowledge of basic logistics, transportation, and operational support principles
Ability to follow written procedures, safety guidelines, and operational protocols
Ability to safely operate county vehicles and equipment in compliance with applicable policies and regulations
Ability to handle materials and equipment in a safe and responsible manner
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and operational needs
Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with others
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain professionalism in a variety of work environments
