2+ years expAkkodis is seeking a CAD Drafter for a contract position role with our client. The main responsibilities include 2D drafting specifically for utilities and interacting with local municipalities and engineers to develop and update engineering design drawings.

Looking for 2D drafting. Not looking for 3D
Will be doing utilities drafting, not mechanical
Must be able to interact with the local municipalities, Telco engineers and construction/maintenance forces to acquire OSP Records, ICGS, Assessor Maps, map info, AIS and Construction Prints
Site surveys, translating field notes to develop and update conduit/ cable engineering design drawings in AutoCAD
Qualification
Required
Proficiency in AutoCAD
Experience in 2D drafting
Experience in utilities drafting, not mechanical
Fundamental knowledge of Outside Plant, running line, conduit and cable design for copper, fiber optics, coax, manholes, hand holes, Make-Ready Engineering and poles (aerial and underground)
A thorough understanding/experience in the Outside Plant telecom industry
Knowledge of public right-of-way, private easements, existing utilities such as water, sewer, electric, gas, and other underground and aerial utilities
Ability to interact with local municipalities, Telco engineers and construction/maintenance forces
Experience reading blueprints, conduit prints and floor plans
Experience reading permits and setting up traffic control
Two years of experience
Preferred
Knowledgeable in city, county, state and local municipalities encroachment permits
Knowledge of Traffic Control and specialty permits (e.g., UPRR, Caltrans, etc.)
Knowledge of easement right away and various environmental permits
Experience in site surveys and translating field notes to develop and update conduit/cable engineering design drawings in AutoCAD
