Responsibilities
Perform civil/structural engineering design and analysis for nuclear island structures and components
Conduct static and dynamic analyses, including reinforced concrete, structural steel, and composite structures
Develop system design deliverables, including specifications, calculations, and engineering analyses
Design and analyze safety-related nuclear structures in accordance with:
ASME B&PV Section III Division 2
AISC N690
ACI 349
Analyze thermal stresses in reactor containment and resolve overstress conditions
Define hydrodynamic loads for dynamic containment response analysis
Prepare engineering reports and licensing documentation
Interface with customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies, and international authorities on technical matters
Lead design analyses, evaluations, and verifications for BWR structural systems
Develop drawings and specifications to meet engineering and quality requirements
Support quality processes including procedure approvals and non-conformance resolution
Ensure on-time, compliant delivery of engineering documentation and equipment packages
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering
8+ years of experience in the energy sector (nuclear preferred) or comparable technical environment
3+ years of nuclear power plant BOP/TI design and/or operations experience
2+ years in a technical or program leadership role
2+ years interfacing with customers, regulators, and suppliers
Preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license or P.Eng (Ontario)
MS or PhD in Civil Engineering
Experience with BWR plants, including BOP/TI/HVAC systems
Experience supporting nuclear plant construction projects
Strong knowledge of ACI, ASCE, AWS codes and standards
Experience with steel plate composite structures
Strong communication, leadership, and continuous improvement mindset
