Responsibilities

Assist in creation and implementation of aquarium public programs
Utilize skills and knowledge gathered during undergraduate studies
Work in an environment conducive to learning and professional growth

Qualification

Required

At least 18 years of age
Currently enrolled in accredited college/university
United States citizen or possess a valid U.S. work visa
Work outdoors in ambient conditions and lift objects up to 50 lbs
Driving as needed for job duties
Direct interaction or care of children under the age of 18 or direct patient care
Background investigation including a criminal background check demonstrating eligibility for employment with the University of Georgia
Confirmation of the credentials and employment history reflected in application materials

Preferred

Some experience communicating science to visitors of all ages
Previous experience leading educational programs for the public
Previous experience in marine science education
Excellent team working, communication, and leadership skills
First Aid and CPR certification
Completion of internship application and standard background check
Physical ability to work indoors in summer heat and lift objects up to 50 lbs
Pre and post internship assessments, progress and summary reports, and exit interview
