Cap-and-Invest Program Infrastructure Specialist
The California Air Resources Board is seeking a highly motivated Staff Air Pollution Specialist to work on climate programs aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The role involves leading multijurisdictional teams, assessing technical and policy requirements of carbon market programs, and developing strategies for implementing enhancements to the Cap-and-Invest Program infrastructure.

Responsibilities
The SAPS leads multijurisdictional teams conducting assessments of existing technical and policy requirements of current and developing carbon market programs as well as emerging tools that support market programs
The SAPS will leads teams of staff and contractors and also act independently to assess climate programs and tools in other organizations, states and countries, identify opportunities within CARB to apply this knowledge
The SAPS will identify and develop strategies for implementing necessary enhancements to the infrastructure required to implement the California Cap-and-Invest Program
The SAPS works closely with program and division management and presents information to senior leaders
The SAPS coordinates activities with other staff teams in ISD and CARB, with other State agencies, partner jurisdictions, contractors, program stakeholders and the public
