Responsibilities

The position has the overall responsibility of maintaining and supporting the core IT systems of the entire site. Including, Server, Network. telecommunications, security systems
The Senior Analyst IT is responsible for providing support to the business at site and keep the core systems at site up and running 24x7
Supervises and provides guidance and expertise in the design, configuration, implementation, maintenance and administration of network infrastructures, telecommunications systems, server infrastructure and End User Computing
Follows, maintains, and implements internal control, network security and other security systems for computer and telecommunication data, systems and hardware protection. Ensures appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital data and vital electronic infrastructure
Takes lead roles in Capital projects and initiatives at site. Leads projects and initiatives executed at the site carried out by corporate partners. Supports the local transition, preparation and implementation of IT projects and IT strategy initiatives
Active participation in IT/OT synergy. Works in collaboration with OT personnel and establish a synergy between IT and OT domains of work
Provides Tier 2 user support for communication. Such as mobile data networks, wired and wireless network connectivity, WAN, and Telephony system
Works closely with corporate IT partners in Testing and evaluating proposed system changes to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing IT systems
Manage and support IT systems at Site. Evaluate the technology solutions to the business needs of the site and find the best possible tools to meet those needs

Required

Proficient in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, and security systems
Proficient in implementing, administering, and managing the Servers, storage and communication infrastructure, VMware server
Proficient in Windows systems administration including Active Directory, Group Policy, Security, DHCP and DNS, desktop virtualization technology and End User Computing
Strong problem-solving skills – recognition of problems, use of analysis & logic to determine causes, determination, and implementation of solutions. Ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the business without being prompted
Strong customer service skills with a focus on responsiveness, professionalism, and building positive client relationships
Collaborate effectively with site teams to achieve goals that enhance site operations and performance
Good communication skills –ability to present written or verbal information clearly and accurately, while actively listening and responding effectively to stakeholders. Serves as an effective bridge between site leadership and IT by articulating technical concepts in accessible terms and translating business needs into actionable IT deliverables
Superior organizational and time management skills - ability to develop own work schedule, monitor progress against defined parameters and coordinate efforts with other staff members and departments. Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and professionalism
Ability to make decisions and take ownership of issues and make independent decisions within their scope of responsibility
Exhibits continuous self-development, proactively acquiring new skills, sharing knowledge with others to strengthen overall team capability
Post-secondary degree from a recognized university OR a combination of education through a recognized post-secondary learning institute (i.e. associate degree, diploma, college certificate) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant field and a directly related experience of 5-7 years is required
Considerable experience in the field of managing the data center, server, storage, network infrastructure, and/or enterprise applications

Preferred

Industry related experience, IT certifications from Microsoft, Cisco or other related vendors would be beneficial
