Program Associate, Animal Law
The George Washington University Law School is the oldest law school in Washington, DC. The Program Associate will support the Animal Law and Education Initiative through various administrative duties, research, and writing related to Animal Law, and will engage in student advising and recruitment efforts for JD students.

Responsibilities
The organization of lectures, colloquia, conferences, events, and receptions
The administration of the partnership with the Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics
The marketing strategy, publicity efforts, and social media presence of the Animal Law Initiative, including GW website information
Student advising regarding curricular offerings
Support recruitment efforts of JD students to GW Law School
Research and writing related to international and comparative law and to seek to publish that work
Performs other work-related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position
Qualification
Required
Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization
Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position
Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Preferred
A BA degree or higher with coursework related to Animal Law is desired
Strong administrative, academic, research, and writing skills are preferred
Experience with communications and social media is desired
Enjoys interacting with & helping students
Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Drive, and similar operating systems
Attentive to details
Ability to be agile, skilled in prioritizing multiple assignments, and the ability to apply project management skills in order to meet deadlines
Ability to interact with faculty, students, and staff in a team environment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are desired
Strong writing and communication skills are preferred
