Responsibilities
Manages and coordinates receipt and processing of samples through to discard
Assists Sample Management staff and laboratory staff with understanding requirements for LIMS information
Has expertise in all of the sample receipt and accessioning tasks, including: opening, entering, tracking, labeling, shipping, and disposition of samples
Performs follow-up actions with Sample Management staff to review and correct errors
Responsible for reviewing and assigning work
Researches, troubleshoots, and follows up on customer inquiries and problems
Troubleshoots and assists department employees in resolving problems. Keeps Supervisor informed
Maintains and expands an extensive working knowledge of how and what information must be entered into LIMS to ensure that requirements are met
Identifies trends or recurring errors and recommend preventative actions to the manager
Customer service skills including attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality and communication skills
Good documentation skills
Effective conflict resolution skills
Performs other duties, as assigned by Laboratory Technical Operations Manager
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is preferred
1-2 years of directly related experience in Sample Management, Laboratory operations or equivalent
Ability to work independently
Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to be flexible to changing priorities, and to handle multiple tasks
Ability to schedule and plan workloads, implement systems and projects that align with strategic objectives of the company
Demonstrated experience working in a highly regulated environment
Understanding of regulatory compliance and basic quality systems under CLIA, GMP ISO, or related standards
Willingness to work diverse shifts and overtime, as required
On-call rotation required
Preferred
Degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology is preferred
Minimum of 2 years' supervisory/managerial experience preferred
