Lead Payroll Analyst
Teal Energi is a technical manpower provider with extensive experience in supporting major capital projects. The Lead Payroll Analyst is responsible for overseeing bi-weekly payroll processing for a workforce of over 1,000 employees, ensuring compliance and accuracy while collaborating with HR, Finance, and Operations to improve payroll processes.

Responsibilities
Lead and manage the full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll process for 300+ employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
Maintain and validate employee payroll data, including new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, and compensation changes
Review and reconcile payroll registers, adjustments, and exception reports prior to final submission
Process and verify overtime, bonuses, commissions, and other variable pay components in accordance with company policies
Ensure accurate calculation and withholding of taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions
Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner
Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for the UKG payroll system
Configure and maintain payroll-related settings, rules, and workflows in UKG as directed
Perform regular audits and data integrity checks to ensure accuracy of employee records and payroll data
Collaborate with HR and IT on UKG enhancements, testing, and system updates or releases
Generate and maintain standard and ad hoc payroll reports using UKG and related tools
Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and regulations
Support audits and regulatory reviews by compiling payroll data, documentation, and reports
Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
Prepare and distribute payroll-related reports and analytics for HR, Finance, and leadership
Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 review and other required filings, as applicable
Act as a lead resource and mentor for team members involved in payroll-related activities
Partner with HR and Finance to improve integration between payroll, timekeeping, and benefits processes
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience
Participate in cross-functional projects that impact payroll, such as system implementations or policy changes
Support the development and documentation of payroll procedures and best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field required
Minimum of 3+ years of progressively responsible payroll experience
Demonstrated experience managing bi-weekly payroll for a large workforce (300+ employees)
Strong, hands-on experience with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) payroll systems required
Solid understanding of payroll principles, wage and hour regulations, and payroll tax fundamentals
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort working with large data sets and reports
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and provide excellent internal customer service
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism
