Responsibilities

Serves as Deputy Director and as a 1st level supervisor over the Procurement Process Audibility Assurance function and Procurement Planning and Support function
Has managerial authority for oversight and implementation of DLA Energy strategic acquisition plan and is one of the principal staff advisors to DLA Energy Commander/Director/Deputy for command level acquisition policy, plans and procedures
Plans, directs, coordinates, implements, and accomplishes all activities related to acquisition management information, business and industrial systems
Serves as one of the principal advisors and liaisons to DOD, DLA, corporate America, other representatives of business and industry and Federal Civilian Agencies
Attends conferences, briefings, lectures, trade association shows/meetings, etc., to ensure DLA Energy approach is consistent and competitive with private industry

Acquisition Workforce Position CAP: Defense Acquisition Workforce Critical Acquisition position. Must complete DoD certification and other requirements
Financial Disclosure Requirement: Required
Basic Contracting Requirement: A.) A baccalaureate degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees OR B.) a current civilian employee in DoD or member of the Armed Forces, who occupied an 1102 position, contracting officer position, or comparable military contracting position with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold on or before September 30, 2000 are excluded from the requirements of 'A' above
CAP or CAP-KLP Requirement: Must possess 4 years of acquisition experience. Additionally, incumbent must remain in position for a minimum of three years and must sign a written tenure agreement (DD Form 2888). Waiver and deviations may be approved under certain circumstances
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-15 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector
Creditable specialized experience includes: Serves as a principal advisor to senior leaders for command level acquisition policy and procedures
Provides technical oversight of procurement/acquisition laws, regulations, and policies for large scale organization
Conducts long range acquisition planning for inclusion in strategic plans or modifications to existing policy
Analyze and evaluates quality of contracting initiatives and policies to ensure programs/projects are consistent with command objectives
