The HVAC Mechanic II is responsible for maintaining and servicing all HVAC systems at the Murdoch Center and associated facilities, ensuring their successful operation and providing preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

Maintains and services all HVAC systems for Murdoch Center in addition to a satellite facility used for cold storage, the Oxford and Wright Path group homes, and the old ADATC facility consisting of seven buildings
Repairs and provides preventive maintenance for all Murdoch Center’s heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration
Installs new equipment as required
Assists with maintenance repairs and other types of work for other State agencies

Qualification

HVAC systems maintenanceDDC HVAC control systemsReading schematicsTools knowledgeEPA certification

Required

High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma
Four years of progressive experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air conditioning chillers, air handling, chilled water distribution and control systems including one year at the journey level
Current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations part 82, subpart F

Preferred

Working knowledge of tools
Ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and to prescribe and perform repair procedures
Experience using and troubleshooting commercial DDC HVAC control systems
Experience reading and working with schematics and blueprints during the performance of maintenance and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment
Valid Driver's License
