The role involves reading bore plans, performing inspections and maintenance on equipment, and ensuring safety procedures are followed during operations.

Responsibilities
Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment to complete pilot bores, reaming, and pullbacks
Read and interpret bore plans, profiles, and utility locates
Adjust drilling paths based on locator feedback and ground conditions
Perform daily inspections and basic maintenance on drilling equipment
Follow all safety procedures, including OSHA and company standards
Operate electronic locating equipment to track drill head location, depth, and pitch
Communicate real-time guidance to the operator to maintain bore accuracy
Verify utility locates and identify potential conflicts
Monitor drilling progress to prevent utility strikes or deviations
Document bore data as required by the project or company
Work closely with crew members and supervisors
Assist with potholing, site prep, cleanup, and restoration
Maintain jobsite safety and situational awareness at all times
Travel to job sites as required
Perform work in all weather conditions
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Experience with drilling equipment, including their capabilities, limitations, and drill setup and design processes
Knowledge of underground utility installation and safety practices
Ability to read utility maps, bore profiles, and construction plans
To be 18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
Valid Class A Commercial driver's license
