Responsibilities
Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment
Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, Client out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems
Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment
Position instructions and comments on drawings
Design scale or full-size blueprints of specialty items such as furniture and automobile body or chassis components
Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials
Client out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines
Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
5-7 years' experience required
Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability
Team player and detail oriented
Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
Knowledge of relevant computer applications, such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting)
