Cyber Security Engineer SME (Subject Matter Expert)

Responsibilities
Develop and implement R&D strategies aligned with the U.S. Army C5ISR mission objectives
Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and methodologies to drive innovation
Monitor industry trends to identify opportunities for advancement
Lead, mentor, and inspire the R&D team, fostering technical excellence and career development
Oversee all aspects of R&D projects, ensuring alignment with DoD Cyber Security Strategy and architecture requirements
Serve as the primary interface between the customer and Leidos leadership, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration
Prepare and present detailed reports on project progress, findings, and outcomes to stakeholders
Collaborate with customer stakeholders, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel to achieve program goals
Qualification
Required
20+ years of comprehensive COMSEC experience, including cryptographic modernization, key management, and public key infrastructure (PKI)
Expertise in Cryptographic Modernization (CM1, ACC, CM2) strategy, policy, and best practices
Extensive experience with Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) at all tiers and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI), including Over-The-Net Keying (OTNK)
Proficiency in implementing and operating PKI systems
Master's degree in engineering, computer science, electronics engineering, or a related technical discipline
Appropriate DoD 8750 certification (Security+ or higher)
Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, information security/authorization profiles, and security administration of Unix or NT networks/systems
Familiarity with Government security policies and security-related technologies and auditing tools
U.S. Citizenship and possession of a TS/SCI Clearance
Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI at time of consideration
Preferred
Experience in heterogeneous computer networking technology and work in protocol and/or interface standards specification
30+ years of comprehensive COMSEC experience, including cryptographic modernization, key management, and public key infrastructure (PKI)
General experience includes system engineering; electrical design, software engineering; program design and implementation; configuration management; or maintenance
Experience supporting Army programs
