WASTEWATER CREW LEADER (HIGH VOLTAGE) (Promotional)
NEOGOV is seeking a Wastewater Crew Leader (High Voltage) to oversee the High Voltage electrical crew at the Metropolitan Sewer District. The role involves planning, scheduling, and coordinating work while ensuring safety procedures are followed, as well as providing training and direction to the crew during maintenance and repair activities.

Responsibilities
Plans, schedules, and coordinates the work for High Voltage electrical crew and instructs and trains the crew in work and safety procedures
Directs the EMW3 electrical maintenance crew and contractors in troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance activities and keeps records and files pertaining to work, maintenance supplies, tools and instruments, and other items pertinent to the maintenance functions
Work includes more advanced technical knowledge of substation maintenance, electrical controls, and complex devices
Duties include layout and installation, maintenance, repair, replacement, adjustment, inspecting, cleaning, testing, and troubleshooting of electric and electro-mechanical systems and component parts
Performs all EMW3 related duties as required
Assigns crews, ensuring that they are provided with necessary supplies, materials, and tools, and that all instructions are fully understood
Adjust work schedule to ensure tasks align with operational needs
Coordinate activities with other work groups
Determine parts, materials, and services needed for the required work per business processes
Identify if items are in stock or if they need to be purchased
Review work orders when fieldwork is completed to ensure that all information is contained in the work order
This process includes listing all labor, materials, parts, services, and lessons learned/obstacles as feedback for future planning processes
Coordinate and perform maintenance activities on industrial process equipment per business processes
Under the direction of a supervisor, applies and enforces safety principles and practices as stipulated in department policies and procedures and the Employee Safety Instruction Manual; identifies and eliminates unsafe practices and conditions
Provides on-the-job training by demonstrating procedures on unusual or complex maintenance activities
Regularly checks the facilities and work sites for proper upkeep and reports or corrects irregularities
Installs data boards and data lines to data jacks and computers using fiber optic cable
Installs, wires, tests, and services Remote Terminal Units (RTU), Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), programmable relays, and other electronic system controllers
Installs and modifies conduit and conductors to supply electricity to electrically operated equipment, including Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) units
Installs new aerial lines or replaces damaged aerial lines by working from platform lift trucks, bucket trucks, scaffolding, etc
Runs remote terminal units
Maintains work records using paper forms, checklists, notepads, or various computer programs such as computerized maintenance management or work order software or other devices such as e-mail, CAD, electronic tablets, or laptops
Performs or directs the maintenance and repair of electric motors by testing, inspecting, and servicing, using hand tools and electrical test equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, and meggars
Maintains, installs, tests, and repairs communications and data system equipment including phone, fiber, radio, wireless, and other related systems
Services Ultraviolet system lighting and equipment used in water and wastewater plants
Maintains complex electrical motor starters and control systems
Maintains switchgear and transformers by inspecting, cleaning, and servicing, using hand tools, and cleaning equipment
Maintains batteries and DC system equipment by inspecting, testing, cleaning, recharging, and replacing
Maintains shop and work areas in a safe, orderly, and healthy condition
Repairs or maintains electrical pumps and motors
Repairs all HID, fluorescent, and incandescent light fixtures, installed indoors or outdoors
Repairs or replaces broken and defective wiring, including high voltage feeders
Drives bucket trucks, aerial ladders, vehicles with trainers and similar equipment to work sites
Ability to work on underground and overhead equipment
Initiates requests for the requisition of equipment, tools, and supplies necessary for maintenance of the facilities
Keeps inventory records of maintenance supplies, vehicle shop equipment, tools, and test instruments; keeps records of requisitions and storeroom purchases
Prepares operating reports of types of equipment and materials used, number of units serviced or replaced, and similar information
Inspects completed work and assists in mapping out new projects
Qualification
Required
Three years of experience as an Electrical Maintenance Worker 3 (High Voltage) with the City of Cincinnati working on equipment rated at 4160 volts AC or above
Must have a valid Driver's License
A valid Ohio Commercial Driver's License may be required for certain assignments
Vision suitable for reading test instrument gauges accurately
Ability to work with high voltage
Ability to work in confined spaces
Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, etc., and work at great heights
Strength to safely pull cable through conduit, lift and carry toolboxes, electric panels, and other heavy equipment
Color vision sufficient to distinguish between basic colors and shades of colors to analyze color-coded wiring systems
Sufficient finger dexterity to handle small fittings and do precise work inside boxes and equipment
Must be willing to work on irregular and/or rotating, split, or night shifts and to respond to emergency calls when necessary
Must be willing and able to drive assigned vehicles when necessary and to operate mechanical equipment when necessary
