Channel Sales Manager, North America
Thermal Energy International Inc. (TEI) is a global provider of energy-efficiency and emissions-reduction solutions, serving a variety of industrial and institutional customers. They are seeking a Channel Sales Manager, North America to establish and lead the expansion of GEM steam traps into the North American manufacturers’ representative sales channel, focusing on building relationships and driving revenue growth.
Responsibilities
Design, establish, and scale a comprehensive North American manufacturers’ representative network for GEM steam traps
Support and enhance the North American HeatSponge manufacturers’ representative network
Recruit, onboard, train, and manage independent sales agencies to drive market coverage and revenue growth
Lead indirect sales operations, including territory strategy, performance management, and channel accountability
Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers’ representatives, key accounts, and industry stakeholders
Generate new business opportunities and expand GEM’s presence within the North American steam trap market
Coordinate with internal sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure effective execution and customer satisfaction
Support and collaborate with BEI’s existing representative network as needed to ensure alignment and shared best practices
Qualification
Required
Firsthand knowledge of the steam trap market
Established relationships within manufacturers' representative organizations
Demonstrated ability to build, scale, and lead indirect sales channels
Deep, firsthand experience selling steam traps, steam system components, or closely related boiler and steam-cycle equipment in North America
A documented track record of opening new markets, recruiting sales representation, and driving revenue growth through indirect manufacturers' representative channels
Existing, actionable relationships with manufacturers' representative firms and the credibility to recruit, activate, and hold them accountable
Comfort entering underdeveloped territories with no established channel presence and creating structure, coverage, and results from the ground up
A relentless hunter mentality measuring success by new relationships built, opportunities created, and market share captured
The ability to lead without title or infrastructure, earning influence through expertise, urgency, and execution
Strong commercial judgment to balance aggressive growth with long-term channel health and brand integrity
The discipline to spend the majority of time in the field rather than managing from behind a desk
Personal ownership of outcomes, a bias for action, and a willingness to be uncomfortable in pursuit of growth
