Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs the operations of Ancillary services, including but not limited to departments of diagnostic imaging, laboratory, rehabilitation, respiratory services, and cardiology for both PIH Health Hospital and PIH Health Physicians
Ensures the effective use of all resources (human, material and financial) to create a ‘patients first’ environment in all areas
A clear vision for the departments working in concert with the strategic goals of the health system is necessary
Demonstrates a constant emphasis on superior performance and value added strategies
Is highly self-directed and has the ability to drive staff ownership and accountability

Required

Must have comprehensive knowledge of hospital operations, corporate organization and policies, governmental relationships to hospital operations, functions of the medical profession and organization, and human resources principles
Accuracy, planning, and judgment are required at a high level due to the frequent occurrence of unpredictable, unprecedented situations
Ability to frequently interact diplomatically with both internal and external groups
Excellent presentation, communication, and organization skills. Respect for and understanding of mission-driven institutions
Demonstrated ability to develop, communicate, and execute short- and long-term strategies aligned with organizational goals, translating vision into measurable outcomes through disciplined planning, prioritization, and accountability
Strong understanding of healthcare finance, budgeting, reimbursement models, and business operations, with the ability to analyze financial data, manage resources effectively, and make sound decisions that support operational sustainability and growth
Proven leadership in advancing clinical quality, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives, with working knowledge of quality metrics, accreditation standards, and continuous improvement methodologies
Ability to lead organizations through change by fostering innovation, managing resistance, and implementing new processes, technologies, or care models that improve outcomes, efficiency, and patient experience
Demonstrated commitment to recruiting, developing, mentoring, and retaining high-performing teams, promoting a culture of engagement, accountability, professional growth, and succession planning
Skilled in building cohesive, interdisciplinary teams and facilitating collaboration across departments, encouraging open communication, shared decision-making, and alignment around organizational priorities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage physicians, clinical leaders, frontline staff, and financial stakeholders, fostering trust, alignment, and collaborative problem-solving
Ability to negotiate effectively and address conflict constructively, balancing organizational objectives with stakeholder concerns while maintaining professionalism, respect, and positive working relationships
Basic computer skills
Demonstrated ability to plan, direct, monitor, and evaluate clinical and operational services to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organizational goals
Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements impacting healthcare operations, including accreditation, licensure, compliance, and reporting standards
Ability to articulate and lead a clear vision for patient-centered, equitable, and safe care delivery, ensuring services are designed around quality, access, and patient experience
Five (5) years of progressive healthcare leadership in a large, complex, and integrated healthcare setting
Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare Administration is required
CA RN license or clinical license in ancillary area (radiology, cath lab etc.)
The ability to effectively analyze complex issues/problems and lead/influence individuals and groups in developing and implementing successful resolution tactics
The ability to set and maintain high standards of performance in a collegial environment, holding people accountable for achieving deliverables. An outcome-driven leader

Preferred

Minimum seven (7) years supervisory/management experience preferred
Master's degree preferred
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
