Principal Systems Engineer (Onsite)

The role involves leading the development of next-generation system solutions and driving product roadmaps while mentoring teams and ensuring compliance with certification standards.

Responsibilities
Lead the Development of Next Generation System Solutions that utilize multi-core processing and IMA architectures: You will develop the requirements, design, integration, and verification solutions and assist in leading a team through these activities
Drive Product Roadmaps and Architectures: Develop product architectures and roadmaps while ensuring compliance with Avionics Engineering Processes and program requirements
Mentor and Guide Teams: Mentor systems and domain engineers and collaborate closely with hardware, software, and firmware teams to troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis, and delegate tasks effectively
Engage in Technical Proposal Development: Lead technical proposal development, including project planning, evaluation, and risk management of complex solutions
Ensure Certification Compliance: Support the development of certification strategies and compliance activities for products in military and civil environments
Available for travel 4-6 times per year as needed
Qualification
Required
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience
5+ years' experience in development programs with demonstrated experience spanning the entire product life cycle
Design experience interfacing with complex embedded devices (microprocessors, graphics processors, memory), knowledge of RTOSs, and hardware-software interfaces
Experience working with standard lab equipment and verification environments for integration testing of embedded systems
Preferred
A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
Demonstrated ability to lead development teams with various skill sets
Demonstrated ability to manage technical small to medium sized teams including schedule, cost, Risk/Opportunity
Direct experience with common regulatory standards such DO-297, ARP-4754, DO-356, AC 20-193
