IT Director - Strategic Planning
Venture Hire Group LLC is seeking an IT Director to lead the development and execution of the company’s IT strategy during a period of rapid organizational integration. The role involves balancing immediate operational IT needs with a long-term vision, ensuring compliance with aerospace and defense industry regulations, and establishing standardized systems across the organization.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute a multi-year IT roadmap aligned with business growth, acquisition integration, and operational excellence goals
Evaluate existing systems across business units and create a phased plan for consolidation, modernization, or replacement
Balance short-term operational fixes with long-term enterprise architecture strategy
Lead post-acquisition IT assessments and integration planning
Standardize and streamline ERP, MRP, PLM, quality, and shop floor systems where appropriate
Establish scalable infrastructure and cloud strategies to support a unified organization
Drive data standardization and reporting capabilities across business units
Serve as a strategic partner to operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, and finance leaders
Understand the unique needs of individual sites while guiding them toward enterprise-wide standards
Translate business priorities into technology initiatives and measurable outcomes
Ensure IT systems meet aerospace and defense compliance requirements (e.g., NIST 800-171, CMMC, ITAR, DFARS)
Oversee cybersecurity strategy, risk management, and incident response planning
Maintain secure handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and export-controlled data
Manage audits, documentation, and continuous improvement of compliance posture
Oversee network, server, cloud, and end-user computing environments
Ensure reliable system performance, uptime, and disaster recovery planning
Establish and monitor IT service delivery, help desk performance, and vendor SLAs
Build and lead an internal IT team and external partners
Establish IT governance, budgeting, and project prioritization processes
Develop policies, standards, and documentation for a maturing IT organization
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
8–12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing environments
Experience integrating IT systems across multiple acquired companies or sites
Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing setting
Demonstrated experience with aerospace/defense IT compliance (NIST 800-171, CMMC, ITAR, DFARS)
Experience developing IT roadmaps and enterprise architecture strategies
Strong vendor management and project leadership skills
Preferred
Experience with PLM, MES, or shop floor automation systems
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar)
Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, PMP, or ITIL
Experience supporting engineering and highly regulated production environments
