Responsibilities
Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of CDPH emergency response plans, training, operational response plans, and COOPs
Coordinate CDPH-wide planning activities related to emergency preparedness, response, and recovery, ensuring consistency with the CDPH Emergency Response Plan and the State Emergency Plan
Serve as a liaison with federal, state, and local agencies (e.g., EMSA, Cal OES) to support integrated, multidisciplinary emergency response efforts within the Medical and Health Coordination Center (MHCC)
Maintain authoritative knowledge of the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS), National Incident Management System (NIMS), and other relevant emergency frameworks
Support implementation of deliverables under the Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) and Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) Cooperative Agreements
Promote emergency planning and preparedness best practices across CDPH programs and stakeholders through meetings, conferences, and technical assistance
Oversee multiple emergency preparedness projects, including planning, training, tracking, reporting, outreach, and exercise development
Review program-specific plans and procedures for compliance with SEMS/NIMS and consistency with CDPH-wide operations
Represent CPR at meetings, workgroups, and training events and participate in both federal and state training programs, workshops, and site visits
Qualification
Required
