Strategic Finance Manager - Private Equity Backed Portfolio Company
CarterPierce, INC. is a PE-backed Financial Services Portfolio Company seeking a Strategic Finance Manager. This role involves building financial reporting systems and analyses to support company performance and growth, while collaborating closely with the VP Finance and CFO.
Responsibilities
Working with the VP Finance and CFO, the Strategic Finance Manager will be responsible for standing up world class new KPI reporting (working with Tech), integrating subsidiary Partner Firm financial and operational reporting, and publishing the Company and Partner Firm forecasts and other analyses
Financial Reporting and MD&A: Work with the CFO, VP Finance, and Controller to prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and operational reports within 15 days of month-end, including MD&A that is both concise and clear
KPIs and Analysis: Provide key stakeholders with accurate, timely, and relevant financial data, analyses, and KPIs to drive performance visibility and strategic decision making across the Company
Board Reporting and Budgeting: Assist the VP Finance and CFO in preparation of the annual strategic plan, annual budget, quarterly financial forecasts, and board presentations, and long-range business plans. Identify and communicate key performance drivers and explanations for variances from budget
Tech-Driven Operational Reporting: Configure and utilize system-based reporting software (Workday ERP/HRIS/CPM, client CRM, Practice Management, and BI tools) to analyze financial and operational data and create automated management reports in a real-time environment. Analyze opportunities to drive efficient and streamlined workflows, employee capacity utilization, appropriate employee compensation plans, and client pricing structures
Cash and Debt Management: Interface with the Company’s treasury, risk management functions and lenders and to prudently manage the Company’s balance sheet including cash flow, capital investments, working capital, liquidity needs, and debt levels in support of the Company’s strategies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
3+ years of relevant experience (e.g., investment banking, PE, corporate finance, FP&A, or management consulting)
Accomplished finance professional with unquestionable integrity, a strong work ethic, and demonstrated success with reporting, complex analyses, and financial modeling
A ‘can-do', solution-oriented individual and initiative-taking problem solver; intellectually curious, analytical, and committed to self-improvement
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks in a demanding environment. Able to initiate, manage, and execute projects with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
Commercially minded with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to identify the financial implications of business decisions and incorporate them into detailed financial projections and analyses (budgeting, big data analysis including pivot tables, ROI, NPV, etc.)
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and three-statement financial analysis
Highly proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
