Director, Labor Relations & Lead Negotiator

Responsibilities
Leading negotiations of collective bargaining agreements
Developing bargaining strategy
Representing the University’s interests at the table
Convening and leading University bargaining teams
Ensuring appropriate representation from key constituencies
Working closely with internal stakeholders to align bargaining positions with institutional priorities
Serving as a key resource to the University on the interpretation, administration, and compliance with collective bargaining agreements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree
10 or more years of labor relations experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated experience leading collective bargaining negotiations, including direct participation at the bargaining table
Demonstrated ability to lead and conclude collective bargaining negotiations effectively
Strong negotiation and relationship management skills, with the ability to reach durable, mutually acceptable agreements
Deep knowledge of labor relations, labor law, and regulatory frameworks at the federal, state, and local levels
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to bring together stakeholders with differing perspectives and interests
Sound judgment and discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately
Preferred
Master's Degree in labor relations or equivalent field or Juris Doctorate (J.D.)
10 or more years of relevant labor relations experience
Experience negotiating collective bargaining agreements in a university or similarly complex, unionized environment
