Professor, Small Animal Veterinary Internal Medicine
Lyon College School of Veterinary Medicine is inviting applications for a faculty position in Small Animal Internal Medicine. The role involves teaching, service, and scholarly activities focused on veterinary education and advancing the health and welfare of animals.

Responsibilities
Provide innovative education, mentorship, and guidance to all students in a variety of settings, including the classroom, laboratory, simulation center, and Cabot Animal Support Services in the discipline of veterinary medicine
Play a critical role in promoting the health and welfare of animals within a shelter environment, including high-quality surgical and medical care to small animals, support of population management, promotion of public health, and collaboration within the shelter program
Participate in student assessment, feedback, and remediation to ensure that students meet LCSVM's high academic standards in the areas of knowledge, skills, and abilities
Participate in curriculum development, delivery, assessment, and enhancement
Provide service to Lyon College and the greater community by serving on committees, providing leadership, participating in community outreach events, and working with professional organizations and groups
Maintain discipline and teaching expertise through continuing professional education
Engage in scholarly activity, including research, authorship, presentations at conferences, innovation, entrepreneurship, and mentorship of students in their scholarly activities
Opportunities exist to provide medical services to partners of the veterinary school, such as private practices
Promote the mission of LCSVM to all faculty, staff, students, and to the local, state, national, and international communities, as appropriate
Contribute to a culture of academic creativity, innovation, and collaboration that fosters student success
Promote effective, collaborative, inclusive working relationships among faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders
Advance the principles of andragogy and pedagogy throughout LCSVM
Perform other duties as assigned
Comply with all policies and standards
Qualification
Required
DVM or equivalent degree
Board Certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, another relevant ABVS specialty (such as ABVP), or progress towards specialty certification
Preferred
Master's degree and/or doctoral degree
Prior experience teaching within a veterinary or medical school
Demonstrated leadership experience in educational and/or professional settings
Demonstrated scholarly activities in education, innovations, entrepreneurship, and/or medical research
