Westview YMCA Executive Director
YMCA of Greater Omaha is a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Executive Director of the Westview YMCA will lead branch programs and services, develop staff, and ensure quality programs while collaborating with Westview High School.
Non-profit Organization Management
Responsibilities
Oversees the hiring, training, development and supervision of leadership staff
Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meets or exceeds budget targets
Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local community and develops positive working relationships with other organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops, maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community agencies in service area
Coordinates the development of the branch board and committees. Directs the volunteer activities (policy and program) of the branch
Directs the financial development activities of the branch
Directs branch strategic planning efforts and develops the annual operating plan of the branch
Develops and directs high quality relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community
Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs which support the Y mission, goals, and strategies
Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities, grounds, and equipment
Directs branch marketing and communication efforts to effectively communicate benefit to the community
Serves as a member of Y leadership and supports the overall objectives of the YMCA
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in human services, social services, business or equivalent
Three or more years successfully leading people &/or operations, preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency
Ability to direct total operations through volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and program development
Successful community engagement experience, including development of volunteers
Successful fundraising experience
Complete within 30 days of hire: YMCA cause & culture training; membership-specific training; BLS CPR; First Aid; (provided by YMCA)
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community and successful clearance of background check
Follow youth boundaries policies and abuse risk management training
Report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and adhere to mandated abuse reporting and responsibilities
Complete all required abuse prevention training prior to first shift
Screen, train, and enforce abuse prevention policies for staff
Promote a reporting culture, address violations, and maintain confidentiality
Ensure compliance with mandated reporting and communicate zero tolerance to all staff
Preferred
YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification preferred
