2–4 Year Finance & Real Estate Lending Associate Attorney –Houston, TX- 361139
BCG Attorney Search is a leading legal recruiting firm seeking a Finance & Real Estate Lending Associate Attorney for their Houston office. The role involves supporting lenders on complex commercial real estate financings and syndicated credit facilities, with a focus on drafting loan documents and advising on transactions.
Responsibilities
Represent lenders in the planning, negotiation, documentation, and workout of loan transactions
Support a wide range of loan products, including syndicated credit facilities, asset-based loans, equipment loans, working capital loans, participated credits, and loan sales
Assist with commercial real estate financing for acquisitions, development, and construction matters across multifamily, office, retail, industrial, and mixed-use assets
Draft, review, and negotiate key finance documents, such as term sheets, commitment letters, credit agreements, security instruments, intercreditor provisions, and workout/forbearance agreements
Manage diligence and closing processes, including reviewing borrower materials, preparing closing checklists, and coordinating deliverables with internal teams and outside parties
Handle distressed real estate issues, including defaults, restructurings, and enforcement-related documentation
Advise on legal and business considerations affecting financings, including secured transactions concepts and compliance considerations relevant to lender-side deals
Collaborate with partners and deal teams to keep transactions moving efficiently while maintaining excellent work product
Qualification
Required
2–4 years of experience in finance and lending law (law firm experience preferred)
Experience supporting lender-side matters in commercial real estate finance and/or syndicated lending
Familiarity with secured transactions, collateral structures, and loan workout concepts
Strong drafting skills and comfort negotiating finance documentation and market terms
Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple matters, and consistent deadline discipline
Strong academic credentials
Active Texas Bar membership or eligibility for admission to the Texas Bar
Established connections or ties to the Houston community are a plus
Preferred
Practical judgment and a solutions-oriented approach when issues arise during diligence, documentation, or closing
Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients and internal teams
Confidence managing multiple workstreams on fast-moving transactions
Ability to produce polished documents with minimal revision cycles
